Lead development of providing online features for our desktop application, FeedWatch, utilizing Ruby on Rails and AWS Elastic Beanstalk. Adjustments can be made online which are then synced to the desktop and exported to equipment on a dairy farm facility. Users can manage multiple facilities, allow consultants access to their data and have access to a dashboard to view the overall status of equipment and services.- Application built using Ruby on Rails and along with PostgreSQL, Redis for background jobs via Sidekiq, Carrierwave and AWS S3 for file uploads, Devise and Pundit for user authentication and authorization, ERB templates with a sprinkling of React and jQuery- Testing using RSpec and Capybara- Admin dashboard which gives an overall view of facilities and whether issues are present. Support technicians use this dashboard to preemptively call customers and repair problems- Windows service on the user’s desktop continually syncs data and sends a heartbeat of the current system status- Helped moved the development team from using Skype to Slack for team communication- Helped transition the development team from SourceGear Vault to Git- Helped implement a pull request workflow
