My career spans roles in programming, systems administration and strategic IT management across various regions, including South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Bermuda and Switzerland. Mr Da Silveira moved on to Securities Africa Limited / Basic Administration Service / African is Cool, a sister company to Big Law Management Consultants who are based in South Africa. He basically setup the infrastructure databases and an exact replica of their Zimbabwe Computer network. He supported all Zimbabwe clients as well as new and potential clients in South Africa and surrounding countries. Basic Administration Services went on to merge with a South African entity called Securities Africa. Mr Da Silveira was instrumental in the merging and integrating of both company’s hardware, software and databases. He maintains all the software as before with the inclusion of a Brokerage system, Reuters price management database, EDI database, document management system, uploading of research documents to Bloomberg and a number of in house programs amongst many other systems.

Mr Da Silveira moved to Big Law Management Consultants where he was an IT Manager / Programmer / Systems administrator. He upgrades and maintains all in house software and at the same time is developing new software. He has developed software in the line of Company and PriceRegister databases (company and share information of every listed company in Africa) Annual Financial Statement Tracker, News feed and IPO (Initial Public Offer) databases, retrenchment software for Admarc and PVHO Malawi using Microsoft Access. He supports Software ranging from Fleetwatch(vehicle management software) to Sharepoint, Customer Satisfaction Indexing software and Econtent(both of which are document management software), Imara Asset Management(stock broking and analysis), Tribac and Chidziva tobacco companies(tobacco stock control system, interfaced with Tobacco Industry Marketing Board) amongst many others. He deals with all hardware and software issues and related tasks. He has designed and implemented a successful Investor Relations website for National Investment Trust Limited in Malawi as well as support and maintenance for a number of other investor relations companies which include Kingdom Meikles Africa Limited, Celsys Limited, Malawi Property Investment Company Limited and many others. As well as the Big Law Management Consultants company website implemented using ASP.net. He has successfully setup an off-site back up server in order to ensure the smooth running of the businesses day to day running.

Mr Da Silveira moved to The Heritage School where he was the Senior Systems Administrator managing two people and was maintaining the internal Aedus School Management Software using Microsoft Access. He was tasked with coming up with new software that ranged from School Library Software to Gym Management Software as well as Report Writing Software. All software, network and hardware support fell under him and he had to make sure all three ICT Labs ran smoothly. He filled in as a substitute lecturer when need had arisen.

Mr Da Silveira moved on to Paynet Zimbabwe (Payserve) formerly know as CF Tulleys. He started off as a programmer here using Clarion 5.5(forth generation programming language). The maintenance of existing Paynet range of products. These are Salaries, Debit Order, Trade payments and Schedules Clients of which are installed in small to large scale companies. The Paynet Gateways which are installed in 90% of the banks located in Zimbabwe. Development of new products for an example a new bank joins the Paynet setup, the following needs to be done for the bank to interface with the Paynet software – Paynet software as well as the Banking System need to be modified in order for the both to interface with each other, electronic data transfer via Paynet, electronic onward passing (EOP) for the new bank to communicate with existing banks and developing the interface with the Banks internal systems. Understanding and supporting the EDI Switch used for transfer of electronic data between Client, Paynet and Banking interfaces. He was then promoted to Systems Administrator / Senior Programmer was in charge of all hardware, software and disaster recovery to do with Paynet.

Mr Da Silveira fist started as a junior programmer at a payroll company called Belina Time Systems and was not only involved in the maintenance of the software but was tasked with maintaining the internal customer database software as well as a Lotboard system and statistical program for Thoroughbred Breeders Association of Zimbabwe. Celsio was tasked with creating all new reports for Belina Payroll using Crystal Reports as well as training and supporting all software internally. He maintained the local network and the hardware maintenance of all Belina hardware.
