As an economic research assistant at the US Consulate in Adana, Turkey, I collected and analyzed economic and social data to support the consulate's mission and goals. I used statistical analysis, literature reviews, and Microsoft Office skills to produce reports and presentations on topics such as unemployment, poverty, education, and earnings. I also completed an honors bachelor's degree in economics and political science with an emphasis in international politics (double-major) from the University of Utah College of Social and Behavioral Science, where I maintained a high GPA and received multiple scholarships and awards. With major and cumulative GPAs above 3.8, I was in the top 15% of my class. I was a semester-long exchange student at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) in the Netherlands, where I have expanded my knowledge and perspective on global issues and cultures. Before joining the US Consulate, I worked as a data analyst at Suazo Business Center and Salt Lake County, where I applied my data analysis skills to various projects and initiatives. I am passionate about economic development, international relations, and social justice, and I aspire to use my education and experience to make a positive impact in the world.I completed two honors theses about economics and political science as part of the honor curriculum requirements. In one, I used longitudinal data across 50 states from 2010-2019 to model minimum wage employment effects on 16-19 and 20-24 year-olds. In the second paper, I used data of immigration by country of origin from 1820 to the present to posit that immigration levels were negatively correlated with the unemployment rate, and that over the long-run, the changing sources of immigration contributed to a political backlash against cheap, ethnically heterogenous immigrant labor.
