The College of Engineering & Management, Kolaghat is one of the oldest private technical Institutes in West Bengal. The college was established in 1998 in the integrated complex of Kolaghat Thermal Power Station with the objective of better Industry- Institute partnership. Prof. Sankar Kumar Sen, former Vice-Chancellor of Jadavpur University and Ex-Minister in-Charge of Power, Science & Technology and Non-conventional Energy Sources, Govt. of West Bengal, was the Chairman of the Society (VSIL). Presently, Shri Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay, MIC-Power and NES, Govt. of West Bengal is the Chairman of our Society. The Institute is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, approved by All India Council for Technical Education. The college runs six UG Courses e.g. Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology and total intake is 420.You will be pleased to note that 21 batches have already graduated from this College in the year from 2002 to 2022. The students have been placed in various reputed organizations all over India. Some of our students have opted for higher studies in reputed Universities in India, IISC-Bangalore, IIFT-New Delhi, IITs, IIMs and in various reputed Universities in the US, the U.K., and Australia.
