About Christopher Emge

During a formative trip to St. Louis in June, before entering the 8th grade, I came across a Newsweek magazine featuring the late Senator Robert Kennedy on the cover, marking the 20th anniversary of his presidential campaign and tragic assassination. I was captivated by his relentless drive, ability to unite people, and vision for a better world. That moment ignited a lifelong passion for public service.Graduating from Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) in 1997, I embarked on a career in the public and non-profit sectors—a journey that continues to this day. My early years were spent learning from seasoned professionals, absorbing their expertise and insights. Over time, I transitioned from being a keen learner to taking on leadership roles, applying the knowledge I gained to drive meaningful change.I didn't follow a rigid career plan; instead, I pursued opportunities that aligned with my interests and values, always seeking environments that fostered personal and professional growth. This path has led me to diverse roles, tackling issues ranging from energy policy, K-3 literacy, and housing to workforce development, public health prevention, and grant management. Each step has broadened my experience and strengthened my ability to make a positive impact.Throughout my career, I have consistently achieved success by embracing challenges, leading with integrity, and remaining committed to making a difference.
