Ever since I was a little kid, civil engineering has been my passion. I still remember the days dreaming to become an engineer. Throughout middle and high school, I broaden my horizon and decided to become civil engineer depending on the problems I saw around me. I devoted myself to address issues of society and make everyone's life better. This passion carried me on my education at Yildiz Technical University. Here, there were resources available to me than I ever could have imagined. I focused on hydraulics and hydrology and completed a project about marine design. Determination to be a water resources engineer enabled me to gain a scholarship and start a new journey in the United States.I studied Water Resources Engineering at Texas A&M University and achieved one of my career goals by graduating with a Master of Science in Civil Engineering. Texas A&M University helped me to take the right steps in advancing a career in the field of Water Resources Engineering. And it was here that I learned truly how much there was yet to learn.So, now, I am working at The General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works and pursuing PhD degree in Civil Engineering at Middle East Technical University. The passion remains with me. There's certainty yet more to learn, yet more to build, and yet more to achieve. And for this, I am very grateful.
