Leading the development of cult DIY 3D animation platform Muvizu. Ran art, software, web and QA teams, all to Agile (Scrum) frameworks. Responsible for staff recruitment/retention, project/product roadmaps driven by the need to hit funding milestones; handled all dialogue/negotiations with the venture capitalist owners, providing visibility and managing.

Working on the recreation of ITV.com as a hub for the corporation's TV catch-up, including the ground-up delivery of a content management system. The developers work to Agile practices and I am involved in creating high-level requirements documents outlining content handling as well as use cases. Although part of the tech dev team, my role places me.

Doha

Hands-on editing and newsroom management. Recruited and trained journalists for the English news site of Al Jazeera, based in Doha, Qatar. I oversaw the development and implementation of the English website, and a new content management system in a converged newsroom.

Returned to print news sub-editing work, including revise and copytasting roles, for The Times as it transitioned from broadsheet to “compact” format; initially, this meant producing the paper in the two distinct formats every day.

Oversaw two innovative financial publications during their acquisition. I also wrote the compliance manual for Durlacher, which was a small investment bank.

Associate editor, including day-to-day chief sub/revise sub responsibilities, for a financial publication, ShareCast. This was later sold to Durlacher, a small investment bank which ran a share-trading site called Nothing Ventured and my position moved there where the two sites were integrated into one CMS, the development of which I oversaw.

Recruited and trained a team of journalists for what was then known as Electronic Telegraph. I was always hands-on in the job and had complete autonomy over the handling of news content, ensuring that it was re-edited and prioritised differently to that of the paper titles to suit an international market. I also worked with the in-house dev team to scope.
