All of 2006 and half of 2007 I had a Team of 8 build out categories based on our in-house designer, we used our purchasing staff to contact all major manufactures in each category and setup accounts. When we went live in about May of 2007 we had over 15,000 individual items ranging from popcorn poppers, furniture, rugs, fireplaces, compact appliances and more. The concept caught on fast reaching a peak of almost $2 million in annual sales in less than 2 years. Over those 2 years I realized that allot of the items we sold on ShopByTheRoom.com required a different business model than our current successful and automated one and I didn't have the time to really focus on the business so it was sold in 2009.
