About Liz Pearce

Working in Further Education for the past 18 years, I have supported both 16-18 year old and adult learners on a wide variety of courses - encouraging, motivating and helping them to achieve their goals. I am flexible and adaptable with solid skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite packages and am Mac OSX as well as Windows literate. I have a proven commitment to developing my professional skills through CPD.In my current role as Progression Coach I have contributed to increasing the achievement rate at Darlington College, especially in the 16-18 age group. In 2014-15 the 16-18 achievement rate was 69.2%. In 2015-16 it had increased to 75.6% - an improvement of 6.4%. Overall, achievement has risen from 86.2% in 2014-15 to 89.6% in 2015-16 (latest figures as of July 2017 - https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/sfa-national-success-rates-tables). This places Darlington College 1st within Tees Valley and 5th within the entire country. The role of Progression Coach in this improvement was highlighted in a recent Ofsted report: “Key to these improvements is the work of progression coaches and their close links with subject tutors.
