About Liz Pearce

Working in Further Education for the past 18 years, I have supported both 16-18 year old and adult learners on a wide variety of courses - encouraging, motivating and helping them to achieve their goals. I am flexible and adaptable with solid skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite packages and am Mac OSX as well as Windows literate. I have a proven commitment to developing my professional skills through CPD.In my current role as Progression Coach I have contributed to increasing the achievement rate at Darlington College, especially in the 16-18 age group. In 2014-15 the 16-18 achievement rate was 69.2%. In 2015-16 it had increased to 75.6% - an improvement of 6.4%. Overall, achievement has risen from 86.2% in 2014-15 to 89.6% in 2015-16 (latest figures as of July 2017 - https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/sfa-national-success-rates-tables). This places Darlington College 1st within Tees Valley and 5th within the entire country. The role of Progression Coach in this improvement was highlighted in a recent Ofsted report: “Key to these improvements is the work of progression coaches and their close links with subject tutors. Their interventions in supporting learners to be ready to learn are significantly supporting improvements.” March 2016, page 3 (https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/files/2554050/urn/130656.pdf)
