When I was 25 years old, my life COMPLETELY changed. I had been raised from birth as a Jehovah's Witness and decided, for many reasons, to leave the religion. Everyone I had ever known, would no longer speak or acknowledge me. Everything I had based my entire life around was...gone. At 15 years old, I was a full time minister dedicating 90 hours a month to "saving lives". But, when I left, I had to start from scratch. While others my age were graduating college and starting their lives, I had ended my previous. My prior religion taught that there was no need for higher education nor pursuing outside interests. So, now what? It took me 20 years to figure this out. I don't regret any of it. It has been a challenging yet wondrous journey.I've supported myself and acquired valuable skills and traits working jobs in hospitality, administration and personal assistance. At 35, while living in San Diego, I attended college to study plant biology in hopes of someday earning a doctorate in Ethnobotany. I absolutely loved college.I got as far as an Associates when, at 40, my sweet son unexpectedly came into my life.Now what? At 44 I realized that even though The Religion had written my past, I would be the author of my future. I embarked on a four year journey, diving into self development and personal growth. I swam through questions regarding past trauma, philosophy, psychology and being a little late to the proverbial party. I needed to lay a proper foundation for my future. I relied on my values to help guide and develop me into who I am today. I’ve developed beneficial habits and routines. Adopted essentialism and minimalism. Started to play tennis everyday (USTA) and started my PA/VA business, Your Second Self. I provide my clients with, “One Less Thing To Worry About”. Helping and supporting others is a part of who I am and part of my WHY. I care about people and I'm honest. I'm confident in knowing what I'm capable of to provide for others. I’ve always been a problem solver and solution seeker. For four years, I’ve been developing a solution to a problem I believe EVERYONE will soon benefit from. I am extremely excited about it and the future story that I’ll continue to write for myself.Oh, And I cuss A lot.
