Cancer Awareness Nurse Manager
CurrentAfter joining Cancer Research UK in 2010 as a Roadshow Nurse, I was promoted to Senior nurse a year later and moved to London to head up the Cancer Awareness Roadshow there. In March of 2013 I was promoted to Cancer Awareness Nurse Manager, and I now manage 2 teams of Cancer Awareness Nurses as well as being part of a team that is in its 9th year of delivering high quality, high impact Cancer Awareness Roadshow campaigns. Part of my role is to develop and deliver public facing community outreach activity to external staff and I am part of a core team who have developed a cancer awareness and early diagnosis training workshop called 'Talk Cancer'.I have spent much of my time at the Charity developing strategic relationships with local public health staff for the purpose of increasing the reach of our cancer prevention, screening and early detection messages at a local level.I help to ensure that our strategy is aligned to business need and respond to the external climate and new opportunities, to allow us to have the greatest possible reach and impact in beating cancer. I work closely with other teams to ensure that our work leverages wider benefits for the charity, in particular promoting the brand and local relevance of CR-UK, supporting fundraising, and helping to inform and influence the public health and localism agenda.
