Mr Cervantes is an attorney and counsellor-at-law, admitted in Mexico in 2000. He received his JD degree from Escuela Libre de Derecho, the foremost school of law in Mexico. Mr Cervantes received his LLM degree with honours from Northwestern University School of Law.He is senior partner and owner in the Mexican boutique law firm MCM Abogados; since 2000 his practice has focused on oil and gas, compliance and anti-corruption in the oilfield services sector, natural resources, government procurement, corporate law, administrative law, arbitration and litigation. Mr Cervantes is a recognised mediator in disputes between oil service companies. Mr Cervantes has provided legal advice to key players in the oilfield service sector, in bids, negotiations, contracts and disputes in Mexico. Mr Cervantes is currently assisting bidders in Round One Bids #1 and #2 of Mexico's National Hydrocarbons Commission (http://ronda1.gob.mx) to obtain E&P Contracts under PSA format.Mr Cervantes has successfully assisted foreign clients in obtaining 25-year contracts with Pemex for E&P services, including the Altamira brownfields, the Miahuapan and Amatitlan blocks in Chicontepec under long term E&P Contracts, and others. Mr. Cervantes is assisting different contractors in the first JOAs and PSAs in the history of Mexico, as a result of the migration to the new contractual regime derived from Mexico's energy reform. He has assisted in the financing of security packages of offshore and onshore drilling companies. Mr Cervantes has represented clients in water treatment plant projects; involved in the purchase of one of the largest water infrastructure companies in Mexico. Since 2009 Mr Cervantes has been recognised as leading lawyer in oil & gas and natural resources by Who's Who International, The Legal 500 Hundred, Newsweek Latin America, Global Law Experts. He has been an active speaker in LAGCOE 2011 and Mexico's Petroleum Congress 2012. Mr Cervantes is member of AIPN.
