Data Technician
Current●Create, update and manage transit data for clients ranging from small businesses to governmental organizations using General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) producing software.●Ensure GTFS data is validated and meets basic compliance standards before being pushed into production on trip planning applications such as Google Maps.●Use SQL queries and Excel to troubleshoot and make post export modification to GTFS files so the data can be successfully ingested by CAD AVL systems and other real time data tools that track on time performance for bus drivers and provide real time rider facing data.●Maintain integrity of client's GTFS data through communication on Zendesk, email or using web tracking software such as Versionista to search for schedule changes.●Provide trainings for clients that are new and current users of GTFS software on best practices of the software to ensure a better overall experience when making updates to their feed.●Generate website timetable displays, verify timetables have no errors and hand off to websites team to upload into client's website. ●QA GTFS software by helping Software Development team test new features and fix reported bugs.●Collaborate with Sales team on making recommendations for selling extra products or services to clients that can benefit from them.●Collaborate with Consulting team to gather information on clients interested in producing GTFS-flex data then use QGIS software to produce shapefile of desired service area.
