Flight Simulator Technician / Computer Repair Technician
Current• Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions • Engage in preparing plans to determine most feasible approach to technical problems to minimize trainer downtime during operational training periods• Maintain all simulator aircraft electronic systems to include power distribution, compass, global positioning system, communications, navigation, computer, integrated weapons delivery, fire control, and others that may be installed in assigned aircraft• Management and supervision of the training systems/simulators to achieve the contract requirements; ensure effective communication with Government personnel at the site level; prioritize on site personnel and resources to meet daily utilization schedule; delegate and communicate effectively with personnel to assist instructors with their training missions; train and develop shift personnel to provide operational support of designated training devices to enable and achieve maximum training effectiveness• Train and manage employees to achieve significant improvements in their productivity• Supervise and coordinate workers engaged in inspecting, trouble-shooting, servicing, calibrating, lubricating, adjusting and repairing or replacing parts, components, sub-assemblies and assemblies• Reconfigure training system and equipment parameters to alter the configuration of the training system and equipment hardware and software• Directly involved in the upgrades and modifications of simulators throughout the years• Maintain and perform troubleshooting, alignment and I-Level/O-Level repair of computer systems, image generators, communication systems, audio systems, I/O interface systems, computer network systems, hydraulic power units including the motion base for flight simulators and control loading for the flight control systems
