I am an experienced Aviation Security (AvSec) Specialist with over 15 years of experience in the field, currently supporting Amazon Air's cargo transportation business in Lakeland Florida. In this role, I am responsible for managing risk-based security standards and ensuring compliance with corporate policies, airport regulations, and standardized processes.As an AvSec Specialist, I perform ongoing assessments of operating risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies to sustain Amazon's air cargo operations, both existing and future. I work to understand, implement, and validate security requirements, ensuring the safety and security of Amazon's associates, vendors, visitors, and assets.In my previous role as an International Security Coordinator (ISC) in Venezuela, I faced various internal and external challenges. However, through effective teamwork, I was able to successfully secure the entire operation during these difficulties. As an ISC, my responsibilities included:- Maintaining effective communication with a wide range of local authorities, such as the Civil Aeronautics National Institute, National Guards, INTERPOL, and others.- Conducting security drills to keep staff proficient in established security plans.- Assessing ongoing security risks and suggesting improvements to senior management.- Ensuring the proper implementation of regulations, policies, and procedures.- Investigating security and safety violations. - Conducting security audits to identify vulnerabilities.- Applying effective coaching and counseling plans for all security staff.- Recruiting and developing security personnel in accordance with regulations.- Liaising between hotels, flight crews, and security teams during heightened threat levels.- Providing flight crew security briefings as needed.- Maintaining a robust communication system to oversee all flight security operations.In addition to my ISC experience, I have also served as a Security Instructor, providing training to personnel in over 15 countries.
