At the Cesar Cabrera Jiu-Jitsu , we believe that the study of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) can be transformational, by offering practitioners the opportunity to both improve as individuals (mentally, physically, and spiritually) and to become a force for positive change throughout their communities. Our program reflects our core belief of that we provide a level of technical expertise, attention to detail, enhanced situational or “tactical” awareness, as well as a sense of comradery during every class. Our mission is multifaceted, and is focused on making BJJ accessible to everyone by finding unique and innovative ways to incorporate this art into many aspects of our everyday lives including:- Law enforcement de-escalation, use-of-force, and weapons retention instruction- Combatives/close quarter tactics training for both garrison and deploying military personnel- Small, medium, and large group classes and sparring sessions- Private one-on-one advanced training- Women’s self-defense and empowerment seminars- Official BJJ instructor certification programs- “Add-on” grappling curriculums for established martial arts academies - Children’s anti-bullying and fitness lessons- Developing intramural BJJ/anti-bullying programs for public schools across the country

Prince Georges Police Athletic League
The Prince George's County Police Athletic League has partnered with Cabrera Jiu-Jitsu to provide self defense classes for the county's youth. The PAL Martial Arts program is designed to teach self defense to boys and girls, ages 9 through 17. The program includes a mentoring aspect, which focuses on the core values of respect, discipline, staying healthy and safe, and living by a code. Special emphasis is placed on avoiding unsafe situations and de-escalation of scenarios that have the potential to turn violent, while giving students the skills necessary to defend themselves and to reach safety if a confrontation is unavoidable. This is a great way for boys and girls to gain self confidence by learning an important and useful skill. They will also benefit from instruction and mentoring by Cesar Cabrera, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Renzo Gracie.
