Propulsion Development Engineer
Kent, Wa, Us
Development engineer for three rocket engines with mono-propellant and bi-propellant architectures. Propellants utilized included high test peroxide (HTP), rocket propellant/kerosene (RP), liquid hydrogen (LH2) and liquid oxygen (LOX). Experience ranged from component level to full-up engine testing. Component level testing included thrust chambers, injectors, valves and other electromechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. These three different engines powered propulsion modules for flight testing. Planning, schedule and resource allocation for assembly tasks for two engine systems. These tasks included planning the assembly sequence, support tooling, and methods/equipment forcheckout/verification of engine systems before installation on test stand. Introduced methods to assist in assembly and testing configuration control. Supported launch operations for two flight vehicles with experience ranging from ground support equipment design, build and implementation as well as operator roles including engine test engineer, structural mechanical transport/handling tooling engineering and flight controller during static hot fires and flight tests. Supported component procurement, build and checkout of rocket engine test stands using range of fluids including HTP, RP, LOX, LH2, nitrogen liquid/gas (LN2/GN2) and helium gas (GH2)
