Ministerio de Salud Publica (www.msp.gob.do). Santo Domingo, DN, The Dominican Republic. Assist Minister of Health with policies and regulations related to Health. The Dominican Republic is the first city created in the west after Columbus his landing in 1492 to the Española. You can come and see all the firsts: Hospital, University, Catedral, Mall, Street, etc. in the Colonial CIty or nearby. Previously, served as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean for Graduate Studies & Research (GSR) at Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, AL 36088 (Retired June 2018)(http://www.tuskegee.edu/graduate_studies_and_research/gsr_staff.aspx). In addition, Dr. Fermin serves as the international academic & scientific advisor for Univ. Tecnológica de Santiago (UTESA), in the Dominican Republic. Dr. Fermin is fluent in spoken & written English he studied at Florida Institute of Technology in 1975 (USA) where he also obtained a MS degree in Cell biology in 1977 & a PhD in Biology in1981. From 1981-1983, Dr. Fermin did a Post Doctoral fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston Texas in 1981, & served at BCM as Assistant Professor from 1983-1988, when he moved to Tulane Medical School as Associate Professor. Dr. Fermin was tenured & promoted to professor in 1991 at Tulane. He served as director of Morphological Services, Ultrastructural Pathology Informatics, and for Stor-All of NO, until moving to Tuskegee University in Dec. 2006 due to Katrina destruction of New Orleans and closure of the Hospital and pathology services at TUHSC. More in FB and Research Gate.Specialties: Dr. Fermin held dozens of private & federal funded projects (e.g., National Institute of Health (NIH), National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA), Louisiana Board of Regents (LBOR), the Deafness Research Foundation (DRF) & served in the advisory board of the National Organization for Hearing Research (NOHR). Dr. Fermin is the author of hundreds of published reports in peer-review journals, symposia, book chapters, and scientific proceedings.
