Dual-qualified attorney (Ecuador and New York) with extensive experience in investor-state and commercial arbitration, as well as in disputes before Ecuadorian courts. He has advised clients from the telecommunications, energy, mining, infrastructure and consumer goods sectors, among others, as well as international organizations. In addition to practicing as a disputes lawyer, he has experience in corporate law and in public and administrative law, including competition law.Past experience includes working at top law firms in London, New York and Ecuador, at the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs in New York, and at the National Constituent Assembly of Ecuador, the body in charge of drafting the country's new Constitution in 2007-2008. He has lectured on International Law, International Arbitration and other subjects at Universidad de la Sabana (Bogotá, Colombia), Universidad de los Hemisferios (Quito), Universidad Casa Grande (Guayaquil) and Universidad de San Francisco de Quito.He is a past Co-Chair of the Latin America Interest Group of the American Society of International Law (2018-2021), and continues to serve as member of the Advisory Committee of the Interest Group. He is a member of the ICC ADR Committee for Ecuador and previously served on the board of the Ecuadorian Arbitration Institute.
