As a member of the 7210th Medical Support Unit, my mission is to lead a healthcare team consisting of other advance practice providers, ancillary staff, and Army healthcare specialists in providing comprehensive health evaluations for our nation's service members when they leave for, or return from overseas commitments.

As an Aeromedical Physician Assistant at Fort Hood, TX, I was responsible for the health and well-being of over 400 service members. I provided primary care services, as well as occupational health evaluations for helicopter pilots and other service members whose jobs had specific health and fitness requirements. My day to day work involved providing patient counseling and management of chronic health conditions like hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia, and included urgent care services like the evaluation and treatment of acute illnesses, musculoskeletal injuries, and other minor injuries. At times, my work also involved everything from providing preventive medicine services, like providing education and medication needed for malaria prevention, to being prepared to respond to trauma in a remote location.
