This was a kind of all hands on all tasks type of a job. However it was a job where I gained valuable experience and insights on how to run an office efficiently.I Managed the collection of outstanding debt in line with standard payment terms by ensuring customer payments were posted and allocated accurately to minimise the risk of bad debt...this was what a normal day looked like:• Log Bacs, cash, card and cheque payments to customer accounts and record in cash books• Prepare cash and cheques for banking and deliver to the bank• Allocate customer payments to relevant invoices• Control group mailbox and respond to or refer queries• Provide customers with copy documentation when requested• Resolve queries swiftly• Run scheduled customer routines• Process sales ledger invoices and credits• Assess the applicant's suitability for credit• Perform credit checks using authorized sources• Request payment records from referees• Create and maintain customer accounts on in - house system• Maintain up-to-date account information and contact details• Sort, open, date stamp and distribute incoming mail• Manage outstanding Debt• Monitor aged debt and cash accounts to identify late payment• Collect outstanding debt by an appropriate medium• Establish a follow-up process for collecting payment• Resolve or refer customer account queries• Provide customers with copy documentation when requested• Resolve queries swiftly• Assist in other areas of the administration office and showroom as and when required...The list goes on.
