I am environmental engineer, with an interest in developing technological solutions for the aquaculture sector. In my aquaculture career, I have worked in more than 70 projects taking place in more than 30 countries in every region of the world except Oceania. My passion for discovery and innovation has led me to focus on recirculating aquaculture as an outlet for creativity, solving technical challenges, while improving the way we provide high quality protein to people. My main interests within the sector are nutrient circularization, applied microbiology, novel water treatment methods and improving RAS technology. I have worked with teams designing RAS and RAS-related technology for projects spanning from a small laboratory to large scale farms producing thousands of tons, without limiting species or geographic location. Some of this work has led to the invention of unique technologies and designs that are part of the technology offering of the company I own and work for. My other passion - teaching - allows to work as a consultant. I find pleasure in making sure our clients not only receive a service of quality, but that also acquire a better, deeper understanding of the complexities of their project, so they are left better suited to make informed decisions.
