The volcanoes studied in Eastern Anatolia were Mount Nemrut, Mount Ararat, Mount Tendurek and Mount Suphan. Erciyes and Hasan mountains together with the area of Cappadocia in Central Anatolia and Kula volcanism in Western Anatolia. Monitored and drilled four wells (Hisaralan-1, Nemrut-7, Nevsehir-1 and Erzincan-1) in and around the Nemrut volcano in Bitlis; along the north Anatolian fault in Erzincan; Cappadocia in Nevsehir, Hisaralan in Balikesir and Seferihisar in Izmir. Worked as a field geologist together with the Paleozoic field experts of TPAO (Turkish Petroleum Company) and studied the Paleozoic section of the Southeastern region of Turkey (the northern upper most extension of the oil prone Arabic Plate). After passing the nationwide scholarship for the International Master’s Degree Exam in 1980 provided by MEB (Turkish Ministry of National Education), left to pursue a Master’s of Science degree at WVU (West Virginia University) in USA. Obtaining the Master of Science Degree in Petroleum Geology, completed my mandatory TSK (Turkish Armed Forces) duty in June 1985. Show less
