A Geo-Environmental Professional with >25 years experience, I provide advice on risk in the ground to help clients achieve their desired project outcomes. I advise clients on ground-related liabilities, constraints and opportunities arising from contamination, ground stability and geotechnical issues. I have worked with clients across a range of sectors including the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, oil and gas, defence, property development, transportation, manufacturing, and education. Having worked for a variety of UK-based and International Consultancies, I have acted as project manager or project director across projects at all scales from local to international and have experience in:• The characterisation of complex sites, including gasworks, operational chemical works, and power infrastructure projects;• Delivery and supervision of groundwater and human health risk assessments;• Delivering strategic advice on ground risk to large scale schemes with coal mining legacy issues;• The commercial issues around scheme delivery and ground conditions, in particular in relation to abnormal development costs;• Supporting schemes through the planning process, including EIA scale developments and the technical requirements of such support.Along with an emphasis on the quality, accuracy and timely delivery of services, I ensure colleagues are aware of the commercial context in which they carry out their work while keeping a weather eye to the collection and reporting of defensible data suitable for the project purpose.Specialties: Rapid data assimilation and conceptualisation.The strategic assessment of constraints on large scale developmentsThe pragmatic assessment of in-ground risk and liability, including land quality and mining legacy assessment.
