Responsible for all aspects of marketing and shaping the content and tone of the NYO's communications.The role was strongly focused on marketing the NYO's unique work and activities, including the eight or so annual concerts as well as outreach projects and street performances. This involved a wide mix of online marketing and more traditional print and direct mail, as well as managing media relationships and opportunities. Other major aspects of the role were the recruitment of new players to the orchestra each year, and management of the NYO's online presence.

Responsible for the delivery of marketing activity to support major advertising deals and large strategic partnerships. I worked with FT sales reps to create proactive proposals and respond to client/agency briefs, ensuring that the client's objectives were central to our recommended advertising solutions. My team promoted, optimized and evaluated campaigns, and I was responsible for client / agency liaison throughout, and for providing insight and analysis before and after.

Responsible for the management and development of the LSO's website.This included both technical development and content production. I managed a full redesign of the site, integrating with venue box office system for ticket sales and other e-commerce opportunities. I also produced, edited and wrote content for the 100-page LSO Centenary Concert programme book, and was the editor and producer of the bi-monthly 'Living Music' magazine.

Responsible for negotiating relationships with classical record companies, merchandising CDs online to maximise sales, and writing 10-15 CD reviews per week. In addition I reviewed classical and opera performances and interviewed several high profile international artists (eg Jose Cura, Mitsuko Uchida, Jean-Yves Thibaudet).

Head of Classical department in the Oxford and subsequently the Liverpool HMV stores, responsible for buying and merchandising stock for the section, managing a small team and annual budget.
