In this position I am required to supervise the production of digital media for client requests to ensure that all work is supplied to the best ability of our team. This includes client liaison for specifications and questions regarding their requests, product quality control and assisting team members with working issues and ways to resolve them. I have also been tasked with teaching working procedures to our team members in order to do work to the high level of quality expected by both the client and I. This is carried out with one on one training over a 2 month period.Another side to my work is the data asset management of our departments digital content which is vital to keep our work running smoothly. This requires me to work with our team to ensure all content is located within its correct area and to store this content into a LTO back-up system for off line, long term storage.

With this role I was tasked with the production of digital media for use in a variety of internal and external situations, ranging from videos for PowerPoint presentations, pre-release material to be shown in cinemas as well as released material for broadcast and internet use. I did this by using a range of software and hardware including Rhozet Carbon Coder, Clipster, Civolution Watermarking, Aspera, Globus and Pix.Within this work I had a variety of responsibilities which meant I had to be strictly organised with both the storage of created material and the costing of this work to be used by the financial team. I also had to organise and prioritise my own daily tasks to help our team complete a large workload and this required me to have constant communication with team members and clients, to be efficient with work procedures and to multitask to meet deadlines. Alongside these tasks, I was required to ensure confidential data was secure in our workflow so high levels of quality control and attention to detail were needed. To assist in this I had been responsible for researching and creating workflows, specifications and procedures to maintain a smooth running department and to allow urgent and high priority work to be completed as efficiently as possible.

As a new media operator I worked extensively with the creation and organisation of media data. This included creating digital media files, HD and SD tapes, DVDs and Blu-Ray discs to strict specifications, personally inspecting quality and required specifications had been met and supplying clients with their required material. As such worked as part of a team ensuring very strict deadlines were met and that upon completion, all work was organised and completion costs were accurately recorded.With this work, I used a variety of software and hardware which I had to learn on the job, including digital and analogue tape decks, Apple Mac and Digital Rapids software as well as digital delivery platforms such as Filezilla, Aspera Faspex and Digi Delivery . This meant I had to be diligent in my learning and apply myself to the range of new processes which I had previously not encountered.
