Starting as an self started entrepeneurial venture in July 2019, I have been teaching the piano part time to students of all ages and backgrounds (from 5 to 75 years old). I find it particularly rewarding to see students finally "get" something that was previously challenging.Having gone through formal musical examination and participated in piano competitions in the UK, I have a solid foundation in piano performance to which I hold my students to. This has led to students providing more consistent, confident and convincing performances.

eCommerce, Operations, Supply Chain Management - Data ScientistThe eCommerce Supply Chain Management team is responsible for producing SKU-week level forecasts for products sold on Samsung.com. These forecasts are used for inventory procurement and allocation, manufacturing and capacity planning. The Samsung eCommerce business is projected to be a $200M business in 2020.Major Accomplishments:Demand Forecast Automationo Successfully automated 90%+ of forecasting through a Python based system (Foreteller). Forecasting was previously performed manually by demand planners.o Increased adoption of automated forecasts from 0% to 30+%. This was achieved through alignment of engineering and business processes, educating demand planners of Foreteller, and addressing deficiencies in the forecasting methodology.o An instrumental driving force in achieving this automation initiative; previous incarnations of this initiative were not successful. Success was achieved by instilling numerous automation best practices including ownership and collaboration between teams, developing clear SOPs and SLAs, and redesigning the forecasting system to facilitate incremental changes more easily.

Took half a year off to travel and pursue personal projects. Highlights included:- Travelling to Iceland- Participating on a 2 week tour to Argentina- Antarctica- Falkland Islands- Uruguay.- Began teaching piano to a wide variety of students (from 5 years old to young professionals).- Began to heavily practice yoga and meditation.

These forecast are used for a wide range of applications including financial reporting, and capacity and labor planning.

The demand forecasting team is responsible for producing a weekly demand forecast for nearly all products available to purchase from Amazon. This forecast has multiple downstream uses within the company, for example influencing the buying quantity and planning for seasonal labour.A forecasting research scientist is responsible for addressing and solving business deficiencies by improving existing and constructing new models. Prototyping, experimentation and delivering the final recommendation are key duties. Duties include:- Undestanding painpoints and collecting requirements from internal retail clients.- Quantification and impact analysis of the business problem.- Performing a literature review of potential methods to address the problem.- Prototyping appropriate improvements, producing experimental results and delivering final recommendation of solution. - Empower assigned Software Developer Engineer during the transition process of prototype to production level code.- Present results of improvement to retail clients and obtain their sign off.Additional Activities:- Mentoring new colleagues- Interviewing candidates- Establishing and organising a learning curriculum for existing and new hires.
