Adopted current industry performance engineering concepts and methodologies with new emerging technologies developed by the Ambience Performance Modeling team and incorporated these technologies into the architecture and design of the Eclipse plug-in Ambience tool. The tool provides performance engineer practitioners with a tool to model the application infrastructure, predict performance, and perform scaling analysis based on statistical data including end-to-end response time and aggregated system utilization. Architected and designed tool using the Eclipse Modeling Framework and the Eclipse Graphical Editing Framework to facilitate interoperability with future Rational and SWG Eclipse/WSWB tooling. Presented the technology and the tool at the IBM PLTE 2004 conference in Orlando, FL as part of the infrastructure track (INF-060).
