Directly involved with customers to ensure they received the support they needed with our products, but also ensure the test teams were connected with the customer’s use of the product. Some test members and I made many visits to eBay to meet and discuss their issues. We were directly involved in the planning of their upgrades and on site to assist with the successful upgrade of over 8000 servers. I worked closely with the sales team and was directly involved in all major decisions involving Tivoli software. Functional Test and Globalization Test Manager for the release of the first IBM Tivoli Monitoring product. My team of 8 testers successfully tested 5 database monitoring agents (DB2, Oracle, Sybase, MSSql, Informix) that made up the ITM for Databases product. Successful testing required cross-teaming amongst many teams. I coordinated efforts daily between my team and the Rome team to test the ITM platform. I worked with the development team to work through first time issues with the new architecture. During the project, it was decided we would use China’s software development lab to help with enablement and globalization testing. I was the first in our organization to work with the team in China to develop a working relationship, which included budgeting, training and operational logistics.

I matrix managed 16 testers that resulted in the successful releases of two products that fell under the IBM financial monitoring agents. As functional (FVT), systems (SVT) and globalization (GVT) manager, we released Tivoli for Self Service Terminals (SST) and Tivoli for Point of Sale (POS). Both products created equipment procurement challenges, which I overcame. I also worked with professionals in both fields to bring the knowledge into the teams. Both products were successfully released on time.

Project Manager for a team that was created in IT to deploy Tivoli monitoring software across Tivoli worldwide. With 6 deployment engineers and the help and support of IT contacts in North Carolina, Texas, California, UK, and Rome, we successfully executed a plan that allowed us to monitor business workstations from major hubs to sales offices across Tivoli worldwide. Afterwards, we executed an exit plan by moving into an operations and support stage. The following year was spent speaking to customers at customer centers and user group meetings in the US and abroad about the “Tivoli Experience” - lessons learned and how we would take our lessons learned and improve the product. Highly successful!
