Dr. Carlos Frederico Cavalcanti, is a full-time professor and researcher at the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP), where he leads the Computer Science Department and the Krypto Lab Research Laboratory. He has a PhD in Computer Science from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and Surrey University (UK) and over 29 years of academic and professional experience in the field of computer science and engineering.Dr. Carlos Frederico´s core competencies include cybersecurity, cryptographic architectures and engines, distributed systems, and blockchain. He is passionate about applying his knowledge and skills to solve real-world problems and create innovative solutions for industrial and social challenges. He has worked on several national and international projects, published multiple papers and books, and mentored many students and researchers. He is also a former Dean of Special Projects at UFOP, where he was responsible for strategic planning and development. He is currently focused on exploring the potential of distributed ledger technology (DLT), especially blockchain and directed acyclic graph (DAG), for cybersecurity and digital asset protection.
