I worked as a NetSuite Developer at FHL as an intern during a "work placement" year during my time at University.My main responsibility was to create customisations for standard NetSuite to tailor it to our client's business needs, using Javascript and the SuiteScript API. This included developing new functionality from scratch, modifying existing functionality to adhere to changed business processes, and fixing problems that had occurred with the functionality, whether this had been caused by incorrect code, or user error. I worked with our clients to determine their exact requirements, then worked as part of a team to create a detailed specification, and develop robust code.I was in quite frequent communication with clients, either by email or conference calls. I had to communicate with clients to simplify explanations of complicated and technical processes so that the client could understand what was happening and sign-off on any work that was needed.I was also required to abide by ISO9001 for Quality Control, and ISO27001 for Information Security.My role was crucial to the company, because as a NetSuite partner, being able to develop high-quality NetSuite Solutions is a necessity. This would not be possible without a capable development team.
