Codi Gharagouzloo, Ph.D., is the scientific founder and CEO of Imaginostics, a health tech startup specializing in the development of groundbreaking vascular imaging biomarkers. Based in Lake Nona Medical City, Orlando, FL, Imaginostics is at the forefront of revolutionizing precision medicine. Dr. Gharagouzloo's leadership and innovation have been central to the development of the Quantitative Ultra-short Time-to-echo Contrast-Enhanced (QUTE-CE) MRI technology, which is reshaping diagnostic approaches for longevity and in neurology, cardiology, and oncology.Dr. Gharagouzloo, an expert in MRI physics and nanoparticle contrast-enhanced imaging, earned his Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Northeastern University. His academic journey included a transformative two-year T-32 postdoctoral fellowship at the Gordon Center for Medical Imaging, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Harvard Medical School. He obtained his Master of Science in Biophotonics from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris-Saclay, France, specializing in nonlinear optical microscopy. His undergraduate education resulted in dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Physics and Mechanical & Nuclear Engineering from Kansas State University, complemented by a tenure as a National Science Foundation research fellow in particle physics at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule in Zürich, Switzerland. In 2018, Dr. Gharagouzloo founded Imaginostics to translate his groundbreaking quantum physics based medical imaging invention from the bench to bedside. The company's focus is on addressing complex diseases through innovative, gadolinium-free, and renal-safe imaging solutions that offer unparalleled insight into vascular structures, including those around metallic vascular implants. The QUTE-CE MRI technology offers tenfold enhancement of soft tissue visualization compared to traditional gadolinium-based methods and offers the first suite of precision medicine imaging biomarkers for vascular assessment.Dr. Gharagouzloo's work is driven by a passion for creating the next generation of precision medicine diagnostic tools to understand the brain, and to transform personalized healthcare, accelerate drug development, and fight aging. He leads Imaginostics with a vision to provide early, precise, and less invasive diagnostic solutions, facilitate effective patient stratification in clinical trials, and map the real-time pharmacokinetics of drugs.

Postdoctoral Research FellowHarvard Medical School Jun 2016 - May 2018Boston, Ma, UsI was a T32 postdoctoral fellow in at the Gordon Center for Medical Imaging (GCMI). I continued to develop QUTE-CE MRI in murine models, non-human primates, and first-in-human neuroimaging. I also contributed to the development of [18F]MK6240 for PET imaging of tau aggregates in ADRD. -
Phd Candidate, Research AssistantNortheastern University Sep 2011 - May 2016Boston, Ma, UsI invented and developed a new quantitative imaging modality called Quantitative Ultra-short Time-to-Echo Magnetic Resonance Imaging (QUTE-CE MRI). QUTE-CE generates better angiograms and enables quantification of the microvascular blood volume, function, and leakage at the individual level for the first time. The modality utilizes clinical doses of an iron supplement, ferumoxytol, and 3D UTE sequences for contrast. -
ResearcherÉcole Normale Supérieure De Cachan Jan 2010 - Jun 2010Gif-Sur-Yvette, Île-De-France, FrWe exploited the nonlinear optical Pockel's effect map out the transmembrane potential of cells in electric fields. The technique is based on balanced homodyne-detection in an interferometric scheme, measuring very small phase shifts, aimed at measuring action potentials without electrodes or dye. I designed optical experiments using gold micro-electrodes, performed cell culture of PC12 cells and was able to map out a 2D image of the transmembrane potential in cells for the first time in the group. -

Researcher / ProgrammerEth Zürich Jun 2008 - Aug 2008Zürich, ChThis work was done in collaboration with the Paul Scherrer Institute.I did simulation experiments using ROOT (an object-oriented program and library developed by CERN in C++) for the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) Experiment at the CERN concerning the inner Pixel Detector resolution. My study was to determine if resolution could be improved by manipulating pixel threshold voltages. It was determined that no significant benefit could be achieved. -
TutorKansas State University 2005 - 2007Manhattan, Ks, UsI tutored Calculus I & II as well as Engineering Physics I & II at KSU through Holton Hall tutoring services and the Students Assisting Scholars program. I taught individuals, groups and even hosted review sessions in a class-room environment. -
ResearcherKansas State University May 2006 - Aug 2006Manhattan, Ks, UsThis work was done in collaboration with the Max Planck Institute in Göttingen, Germany. My group spent 3 weeks abroad at the institute.I was testing various linker molecules with Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) for microfluidic device applications.
