Service Desk Analyst
The service desk functioned as the first point of contact for clients providing first call resolution on issues and requests relating to the hardware and software that Datacom supplies to its clients. As an analyst I provided IT services to clients in the public service at the Federal level in order to provide users with access to virtual desktops, thick clients, thin clients, remote access options, databases, software, and the procurement of additional hardware. The Department of Environment and Energy was my largest client and as such I worked to satisfy stakeholders providing information technology solutions and administrative support. Through consultation I worked hard to create new operating procedures as well as recording issues to improve the knowledge base of the Service Desk.
Assistant Conservator
The Australian Museum has been a leader in science research and communication for nearly 200 years. As a member of the Materials Conservation I was responsible for the preparation of the main on-site collection for long term storage by cleaning, registering and classifying specimens for conservation. I built bespoke storage boxes and boards for safe transport of museum specimens. I also created 3D Scans of museum specimens for conservation and science communication.
Assistant Conservator
As the Australian Museum began work on its Crystal Hall a project was proposed to have a set of footprints etched into the stone entranceway. I scanned a sequence of ancient first-nation footprints from the Willandra Lakes area of New South Wales known as GL7 or the Mungo Footprints. As well as making a digital scan, I was responsible for developing a version of these footprints which were then etched into stone for a permanent display at the new College St entrance to the museum (opened 2015) that met safety standards and kept the appearance of the original prints.Other duties within the Museum included object condition reporting and maintenance, preliminary loan condition reports, production of custom object containers and support platforms to suit specific museum objects.
