    In April 2014 I moved from IBM to ADP to start a role as VP Sales. I was excited, apprehensive, keen to learn. What I didn't know was how much I'd learn, what wonderful friendships I'd make, how long I'd remain.So after seven wonderful, successful and fulfilling years I approached my manager and discussed a transition out. Not because I'd fallen out of 'love' with ADP and the people, but because it was time to hand the baton over and other a refresh and new ideas in. For myself, it was time to dial down the volume a little too. What is clear to me is that if you bring your "authentic self" to work, you show passion for the business, you are empathetic and make people the center of your concern, if you look to your numbers and the business margins; you'll reap the rewards.Yesterday afternoon the team came together (virtually) to say goodbye one last time. I was really humbled by the care and the numbers of attendees (perhaps someone made it compulsory ?). Sure there was some friendly roasting, a book of photos including the worst dad dancing, the most embarrassing dress ups. Also too so many heartfelt thanks. And that is what I did too. I thanked my sales managers, my leaders, the broader business leadership team I was a part of, every sales person for their support and care over the journey. I won't thank everyone by name. I've already done that. So as I work through May in a 'gardening leave' capacity, I will have time to reflect and renew. And in June I start my new work chapter. Once again I'm excited, a little apprehensive and keen to learn.(more to come on that in early June).
