Empowering Better Decisions: Bridging the Gap Between Behavioral Economic Research and Real-world Behavioral ChallengesCurrently, I am looking to employ a PhD student starting September 2025: https://jobportal.ku.dk/phd/?show=162977Passionate about understanding and influencing human behavior, I, a behavioral economist (Ph.D., 2014), conduct research on decision-making to foster positive societal and individual actions. My dual role as Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Copenhagen and co-founder of Impactually, a behavioral science consultancy, reflects my commitment to connecting academic research with real-world impact. My expertise spans public and private sectors, tackling diverse issues from energy and food sustainability to health and charitable giving. Key projects include enhancing medication adherence in South Africa, nudging public transport use in Sweden, and influencing food choices and food waste through nudging. My current focus is on understanding consumer behavior in electricity markets and behavioral impacts of carbon taxes.Published in leading journals like 'Nature Climate Change' and 'Journal of Public Economics', my work showcases the practical application of behavioral insights. I have been named one of "Denmark's 100 Talents" (Berlingske, 2019) and a notable behavioral scientist by Forbes (2020).I am on the "Fit for the Future" Advisory Board for Novo Nordisk and on the Scientific Advisory board for Société GénéraleThrough Impactually's 'Designing Nudges' course and dozens of in-person workshops, I've trained thousands of practitioners in applying the BOOST model of behavior change across sectors.
