Craig Gregson has officially been appointed as a member of the Mental Health Tribunal!The Mental Health Tribunal presides over matters arising from the Mental Health Act 2014 (WA). For example the determination and review of involuntary treatment orders, community treatment orders, complaints concerning mental health services, and much more!The object of the tribunal is to ensure people who have a mental illness are provided the best possible treatment and care: with the least possible restriction of their freedom; and with the least possible interference with their rights; and with respect for their dignity; to recognise the role of carers and families in the treatment, care and support of people who have a mental illness; to recognise and facilitate the involvement of people who have a mental illness, their nominated persons and their carers and families in the consideration of the options that are available for their treatment and care; to help minimise the effect of mental illness on family life; to ensure the protection of people who have or may have a mental illness; to ensure the protection of the community.

Craig is a sessional academic at Curtin Law School teaching in the university's practical legal training offering (PLT). Craig's academic interests are succession law, civil procedure, equity and trusts, legal history, jurisprudence and legal ethics.

During my tenure at Havilah Legal I created and then maintained a significant succession law practice. I had the pleasure of mentoring and supervising junior practitioners and presenting at legal education seminars.

During my time at HFM I specialised in the area of Succession Law, Deceased estate litigation and Estate Planning. I developed a strong practice in this area. I also practiced civil litigation in both the district and supreme court jurisdictions.
