Founded and leading a successful, information technology focused consulting firm. Clients are senior executives at medium-sized organizations, often within the legal, educational or real estate industries. Representative work includes: Program management of ERP (Oracle) and Warehouse Management (Manhattan) system implementations at a publicly traded, apparel company; Selection and deployment of student information systems (SIS) for large K12 school districts; and Business continuity planning and document management system (DMS) implementation for an Am-Law 100 law firm.

Led security initiatives for this dynamic, emergent company. Laurel provides a next-generation timekeeping solution, based upon machine learning and AI, for the legal and professional services industries.Worked closely with the CTO, COO, and General Counsel to ensure the security of its AWS-based SaaS product. Of particular emphasis was ensuring high confidence in data confidentiality, as customers and prospects were often leading, international law and accounting firms with exceptional requirements regarding their client’s privileged information. Per the CEO, “Protecting your data is table stakes.”

Executive Director for a non-profit Internet Service Provider (ISP), whose mission was to provide reliable, affordable, and high speed Internet services to K12 school districts (e.g., in 2015, FETP provided Internet service to about 117,000 students). Had overall responsibility for: Profit & loss; strategic direction; service quality; operations; and sales. Reported to, and an officer (Secretary, Treasurer) of, the Board.

CIO and executive committee member, reported to the North American CEO of a global leader in the secure manufacture and personalization of smart and conventional cards. The North American region spanned six sites, employed 1,300 and had annual revenues of $130MM. Markets served included: financial services (i.e., Visa, MasterCard, American Express, ATM, and cash/payment cards), wireless & telecommunications (i.e., GSM and calling cards) and government (i.e., identification cards). Led a team of 30-45 professionals.

Member of the management team and senior technologist for a venture capital funded, Internet start-up. The company vision was to become the leading application service provider for the commercial property and casualty segment of the global insurance industry, by offering workflow and data management services that reduce the overhead and turnaround time associated with writing insurance. Provided day-to-day leadership, coordinated all product development activities, and directed efforts to build internal infrastructure.

Managed consulting engagements that focused on eBusiness, computing infrastructure, security, and IT organization transformation. Nominated for admission to partnership in 2001. Established a national competency center whose objective was to assist clients experiencing growth related, management and product engineering issues. Exceeded $1,000,000 of managed work per year for over three calendar years, with most engagements generating follow-on work.
