Currently working with a killer team of HubSpot revenue operations specialists at my company ClearPivot. 👊 How I got here:I started out my post-school life working overseas in China for a few years. I came back to the US just in time to walk straight into the 2008 recession. Ouch! Everyone was scared and desperate. Was this the new normal?During this time, I started doing freelance website development, primarily using WordPress. This started picking up some steam and my living expenses were low, so I decided to incorporate an official business entity to see how far I could take it, and that was the start of ClearPivot.It was around this same time that I came across the nascent HubSpot Solutions Partner program. They were a young and hungry company at the time, and we were as well. It was a great fit! We started moving away from WordPress development into demand generation marketing services using HubSpot instead.None of my friends or family had ever started and run a company themselves before, so it oftentimes felt like I had to learn a lot of it on my own. Everything from marketing ourselves, to doing sales, to project management, to hiring and training, and of course things like legal and taxes. It was a lot!I gradually grew our team over the years, and today there are about 8 of us on our core team. I'm especially proud of the tenure of our team. Some of us have been working together for several years at this point!In 2023 I decided that it was time to make our third major shift as a company: moving from marketing services into revenue operations and CRM implementation services. HubSpot is our core platform, and we also work as needed with Salesforce and CallRail integrated with HubSpot as well.RevOps has been an exciting new area for us, because we've seen more and more what a weak point it is for many companies. There's no sense in doing a lot of demand gen if you don't have a great process of to manage the whole lifecycle of those leads and inquiries after they come in. Many companies would benefit significantly more from improving their revenue operations with their existing pipeline than they would from just increasing their ad budget.And that brings us up to the present day. One thing is certain: there's never a dull moment in this line of work. I still set aside time each week for learning and development.
