As President and CEO of On-Board Data Services (OBDS), I’ve been responsible for overseeing the company’s growth into a world class aviation service organization, helping to improve air safety, efficiency and standardization in over 1100 business and commercial flight operations, aircraft manufacturers and maintenance organizations. Our company helps aircraft manufacturers (OEMs) to deliver their flight manuals, maintenance manuals, AND helps aircraft operators deliver their own manuals at the same time.By updating over 400,000 documents each day we estimate we save 1000 trees daily from turning into paper technical publications while ensuring weight reduction so aircraft burn less fuel. Our staff is unmatched in their responsiveness, reliability, friendliness, timeliness and attention to detail. Our customer support is legendary.OBDS Electronic Checklist Services (ECL) works by greatly reducing the numbers of steps required to check the various systems on an airplane, ensuring that the pilot will never miss a critical check item.OBDS Document Distribution Services is a vital document distribution service that helps fleet managers, maintenance directors, dispatchers, and operators to manage and distribute thousands of documents, forms and templates for airlines and aviation organizations around the globe.OEM versions of our generic electronic document, ATA and S1000D technical publication distribution systems for pilots and mechanics are sold by Airbus, Bombardier Aerospace, DeHavilland Aircraft of Canada, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries / CRJ to manage distribution of their technical publications.OBDS is an active contributing member to CBAA (Canadian Business Aviation Association). To improve safety throughout Canadian flight operations, we collaborated with CBAA to develop the Canadian National Aggregate Risk Management System, the world’s first aggregated safety management database. We recently received a US Patent for integrating S1000D technical publications in an 3D augmented/virtual reality collaboration system and continue to work on advanced technical publication technologies.Over the last 33 years, I’ve had the privilege to work with truly amazing teams designing and managing the development of over a hundred commercial software and electronic products for the benefit of organizations such as Airbus A220 Canada, Bombardier, Cessna, Dassault, De Havilland, Mitsubishi RJ, Pilatus, Kodak, Fuji, Korg, Mindjet, AutoCAD and Canadian National Defence.
