Taking the lead in airside operations including aircraft turnarounds, runway inspections and security patrols.

Essentially a baggage handler, supplemented with various ad-hoc duties.

I am a founding member of the Friends of Teesside International Airport and my current role is group Secretary, I arrange all of our meetings and minute them, I manage our membership list and also have an involvement with trips and away days. The group itself assists the airport with ad-hoc charter flights which require extra personnel and attend various trade shows around the north east region advertising both the airport and ourselves.

Following a promotion to Kitchen Shift Leader, I am now part of the Management team and assist the Kitchen Manager in the day-to-day running of the Kitchen, often overseeing the smooth running of shifts in his absence.

I'm responsible for seven-eight members of staff and run shift in the absence of the Kitchen Manager, I'm also fully responsible for the Kitchen when the Kitchen Manager is on annual leave, including stock control, food ordering, attending management meetings and ensuring the overall quality of the food and ensuring that food goes out to customers within a ten minute timeframe.

I was responsible for the cooking of food at various different stages, whether it be prep, cooking, or plating-up, as well as maintaining the highest possible levels of cleanliness.

My primary responsibility was handling mail, whether it be receiving or sending. I also helped out with administration duties in the planning department.

I gained this position through my NVQ course, the role was to perform general office duties that included; binding, faxing, filing, laminating, photocopying and handling incoming and outgoing mail. As the job was predominantly computer based I was able to build upon my Microsoft Office skills which I have since been able to take forward and use in other job roles.

During college I took this part time Christmas job on weekends which involved being part of the floor team. I was responsible for monitoring stock levels and ensuring all shelves both front and back of house were fully stocked.
