I started my career as a general machinist, studied Mechanical Engineering at University, discovered the world of product design whilst working a summer CAD / technical drafting job that ended up turning into a full time position in 2006. I've worked in many industries, always in a product design / development role: Aluminium joinery, showers and plumbing, short life consumer goods, satellite tracking equipment, high margin consumer products and more. I have by in large specialized in injection molded products, however I've also designed parts for low pressure die casting (brass), investment casting processes and press tooling. Along with product design I have designed tooling for injection molding and progressive press tooling. I have branched out into Production engineering in my career with quite a few automated and manual assembly fixture projects under my belt along with precision test fixtures for long term product testing and environment simulation.I have also enjoyed designing and manufacturing large format steel sculptures, many of which have found homes at a top NZ brewery and multiple homes around the country as part of extensive private collections.Along the way I've had a few of my ideas protected by international patents, I have also worked in a key role on products that have gone on to win multiple Gold awards at the 'Best' design awards, the 'German design award' and also multiple 'Red dot' awards.
