I was first introduced to the Solar Industry while working at a Caribbean Hotel in 2013. As General Manager of that hotel, which had solar on every conceivable rooftop, my know-how, fascination and love of solar began. Within a year of returning to the states I found myself installing solar for Tiger Solar in Boise Idaho. After a year on roof-tops, I was put to work in the corporate design office in Boise. Then in 2019, after my wife and I had our first baby girl, we decided to return to our hometown in West Michigan to be closer to family - and ultimately that gave Tiger Solar the perfect reason to start a new branch in Grand Rapids, Michigan!I have previous careers/lives where I worked in Video Editing, Radio, Information Technology, and Hotel Management. Besides solar, Chad would love to talk to you about pinball (Idaho State Champ 2017!), The Virgin Islands, stand-up comedy, or reasons to be optimistic about the future.

Replanting myself back in my hometown of Grand Rapids Michigan after a few years in the Caribbean, I have found a fun position working with people I enjoy in the I.T. office of the Amway Hotel Coorporation. I troubleshoot any I.T. issues any of 3 large hotels worth of guests, or over 1,000 employees may have any given day. Not to mention being an administrator of our networks, active directories and POS systems.

For four great months I was able to return to my Cable Access Television roots and help operate Holland City Television. In that time I was able to create many Holland centric videos for their youtube/vimeo page as well as maintain 3 cable access channels using both Cablecast and Leightronix broadcast systems. I left this job so quickly to pursue a dream of living in the Virgin Islands when the opportunity to move their arose in late 2013.

Downtown Grand Rapids

I was awarded a small start up grant from StartGarden that helped me establish a small business. This business was Your Chauffeur, and we were on call designated drivers (licensed chauffeurs) who would offer you all the benefits of getting a safe ride home but ALSO having your car in the morning. We drove people home in their own cars and then jumped on our small electric scooters back to downtown.

In my five years at Townsquare Media I was able to traverse the radio landscape. First brought in to merely operate the board for DJs in remote locales, I was also able to fill in for morning show producers, grab hours as part time production, fill in for radio DJs doing weather and traffic reports as well as talk on air on a semi-weekly basis with Craig Russel and the Afternoon Hustle.

As the Master Video Editor I edited numerous videos a week as well as supervise the editing of videos by external editors as well as the opportunity to fill in for camera operation in studio and when traveling around the country.

We help GRCMC members gain access to equipment, facilities and knowledge needed to create video media for public broadcast.I had the wonderful experience of learning how to set up and use a Tricaster Broadcasting Unit for special events within the community and around the state.I also had the privilege of filming and editing Kent County Commissioner Meetings every Tuesday and Thursday.
