Each one of us had dreams as a kid of growing up and changing the world in our own ways. I of course was no different, imagining myself as a police officer or in the military traveling and positively impacting the world around me. When the time came to execute this reality, I knew exactly where to start: Get an exciting accounting degree, find some dogs to adventure with, and live the dream.Working in higher education for six years taught me that no matter what you dream, a curveball will be thrown and you will have to adjust your swing. I never thought that I would get a degree in accounting, and subsequently another in leadership, but I understood that being successful requires you to have technical proficiencies and acumen to solve real world problems. I have applied my education and skills in a variety of capacities, working with students and colleagues in a higher education setting to include emergency response and prevention, mental health crisis intervention, college-career counseling and inspiration, to budgeting and leadership in community service projects across the United States. Recently, I began an arduous pursuit of working with numbers. I love solving problems and helping others do the same, thus my love of accounting has become the forefront of my current efforts. If we were on an elevator and you had just listened to my long-winded pitch, I would hope to leave you with this impression:I inspire others to become confident in their passionate pursuit of lifelong goals, while tirelessly searching for creative ways to accomplish our work.
