The AC has several roles and responsibilities that are of fundamental importance to IDPA’s growth and success. The four main AC roles are to grow IDPA membership, represent IDPA Headquarters in the field, be an IDPA mentor, and when necessary be an Arbiter. Professionally represented IDPA in their industry trade booth during the 2016 US Concealed Carry Association Expo and the 2017 NRA annual meetings and expo both held in Atlanta, GA. Presented safety officer courses adding 75+ new volunteer safety officers to the coastal GA region. Senior Weapons Program Manager

Program Management, Supervisor of service firearm and collegiate shooting program at the USCG Academy. Expertly managed, operated and upgraded two indoor shooting range facilities that supported a dynamic annual schedule for the marksmanship training and qualification of all USCG officer accession programs, police department, regional officers and instructors training over 7K students while leading and recruiting over 140 coaches and firearms instructors to fulfill the program goals. Directed six collegiate competitive shooting sports teams with 80 student athletes per year, produced conference championship teams, NRA "All-Americans" and many other individual and team awards/championships in several shooting disciplines. Conducted major overhaul of both ranges improving and insuring the health and safety of staff and competitors. Made extensive recommendations effecting the long-term sustainability of all CG owned Small Arms Firing Ranges incorporating industry standards and best practices. Conducted several mishap and high BLL investigations to determine causal factors and solutions to prevent future incidents. 2015-2017: Weapons officer and security escort patrol commander for transit protection of critical naval weapon systems. Weapons division branch chief conducting operational and logistical support of defensive weapon systems while leading a staff of thirty-five weapon specialist. (petty officers).

Weapons Program Manager/Primary Law Enforcement-Firearms Instructor

Successfully served as a firearms and ammunition manager with specialized training and certifications as a law enforcement officer, firearms and defensive tactics instructor and depot level armorer. Tours of duty included four shipboard assignments, deployable law enforcement training team leader, depot level armorer NSWC-Crane, IN, regional support unit and a use of force instructor at a full-time maritime law enforcement training academy co-located with FLETC Charleston. Major successful project planning includes; Post 9-11 Mobile Training Team Leader meeting unit demands to support immediate law enforcement training and qualifications across the nation. Multiple major shipboard weapon systems installs and conversions, shipboard dockside and drydock maintenance periods. Personally, conducted planning and execution of the 2004 Group of Eight summit in Sea Island, GA as the weapons officer for the assigned USCG security members. (Until the Hurricane Katrina response this was the largest mobilization of CG forces since WWII). Selected and directed 22-person armory detachment to provide 24/7 weapons support and security for 750 CG officers. High success of G8 duties lead to being selected as the USCG Weapons Officer for the 2005 NFL Super Bowl on the River and Katrina weapons support team leader.

Networked, selected and directed a 75 member all volunteer staff to develop and execute a nationally televised competitive action shooting event with fourteen uniquely challenging stages of fire for over 350 registered competitors. Responsible for ensuring apparent safety hazards were identified and mitigated prior to and during event. Event concluded with catered awards banquet at the National Basket Ball Hall of Fame.

Senior weapons and marksmanship program manager, US Coast Guard Academy, directed the coaching and instructor staff that trained and supported all marksmanship programs at the Academy. These programs include all firearms qualifications for the Academy police department, instructor staff, all officer accession programs and the following collegiate shooting sports programs: NCAA varsity RIFLE team, varsity PISTOL team, combat arms team, highpower rifle team, bullseye pistol team and small arms training for Sandhurst military skills team qualifications. Range Master for two indoor firing ranges coordinating all training and competitions held at USCGA while ensuring compliance with industry health and safety standards applicable U.S. regulations (CFR’s). Responsible for the inventory of over 500 small arms including many specialized competition firearms ensuring they were meticulously cared for and maintained along with management of all stocks of ammunition in excess of 1.5M rounds. These stringent efforts earned the Academy and division high grades on all inspections and qualification rates at 100% from 2011-2015.
