Set research agenda, guide policy development and manage research staff for organization that has successfully increased funding for early childhood and elementary education in Massachusetts by $190 million since fiscal year 2005. Additional job responsibilities include: working with federal and state legislators and business and education leaders to inform policy decisions; conducting and overseeing original research and data analysis; producing documents (e.g. policy briefs, Op-Eds, PowerPoint presentations) to promote evidence-based reform; presenting at forums and conferences; and speaking with media outlets.

Served as primary manager of a nationally-recognized, non-partisan research center. Specific responsibilities included: overseeing the operational budget; communicating with funders and other key stakeholders; supervising researchers and support staff; conducting qualitative and quantitative research; writing academic papers and policy briefs; and speaking at national forums and to major media outlets.

Taught English and Global Studies to eighth and ninth grade students. Created original Global Studies curriculum emphasizing “hands-on” research, class projects and portfolio development.
