As Supervisor of Community Supports I lead my team of Mentors who provide direct support to groups and individuals of people with developmental disabilities. The goal of Community Supports is to integrate these individuals into there community to reduce isolation, depression, and anxiety. As well as provide opportunities for these individuals to give back to their communities and build relationships.I was also tasked with developing the JOBS program in Community Supports to prepare and counsel individuals with developmental disabilities on how to obtain and maintain employment in the community so they could be tax-paying, productive members of society. To feel a true part of their community is best done through meaningful work.
