Manage three 14-bed residential units serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities; including dual diagnosis, ASD, and dementia. Oversee approximately 60 direct-service staff members, directly supervise 5 residential supervisors and two clinical specialists. Provide day-to-day operations management including budget planning, strategy, overtime reduction, staff meetings, scheduling, hiring and discipline, job coaching, staff and resident advocacy, and liaison between residential services and all other disciplines, including recreation, nursing, training, dietary, clinical, day program services, and human resources. HCSIS Point Person and Certified Investigator for allegations of abuse and neglect. Oversight of regulatory compliance regarding Department of Health, ICF/ID regulations, and various other regulatory and advocacy groups. Member of Human Rights Committee, Program Audit group, Safety Committee, and facilitator of Incident Management Committee. Member of the Northeast Regional Council on Integration & Inclusion.

Provided clinical and operational oversight of program for 24 children and adolescents, including direct supervision of therapists, case managers, dorm leaders and coordinators. Supported expansion of services to a capacity of 38 clients and additional staff. Enhanced services offered through safety initiatives, life skills support and staff education and training. Maintain all regulations including 3800’s, JCAHO, COA and all necessary requirements for MA and managed care entities. Actively participate with the Juvenile Justice System, including regular meetings with Probation Officers, court appearances, and timely reporting of all relevant information regarding those individuals in the CJ system. Managed organization-wide efforts to collect, analyze, report and provide assessment and consultation on data and statistical measures in the areas of outcomes, service utilization, regulations, client records, quality assurance measures, human rights issues and strategic goals. Developed new systems of data collection and reporting, provide regional consultation and training, and track effectiveness of all data-related operational systems. Lead marketing group and performed both internal and external analyses of trends and organizational needs, leading to new marketing efforts and system changes. Created marketing materials for direct marketing initiatives and gave presentations to other providers and potential referral sources. Integrated the needs of the service coordination, HR, and Development departments to streamline dissemination efforts and community events.

Developed and enhanced program design for new rehabilitation division, including community needs marketing, budget, staffing, HR needs, training assessment and goal setting for pilot program serving individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. Established and increased client base while maintaining positive relationships with other community providers and competition. Networked with associated agencies in such areas as forensic treatment, court system, parole and probation, homeless outreach, residential opportunities, state facilities, and local advisory boards. Former member of MCCJTP and the Provider Council of Frederick County. Managed all Medicaid/managed care billing requirements and reconciliation of service authorizations and collections.

Began as residential counselor for adults with mental illness, promoted to Counselor ll (1996), promoted to supervisor (1997). Facilitated individuals’ community integration, provided individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and skills training. Performed assessments, evaluations and ongoing case management as part of treatment team. Acted as consumer advocate. Managed staff schedules and on-call employees, provided supervision as needed, tracked and reported on all staff performance areas. Worked diligently with other community providers, social workers, doctors, client families, community members, and other relevant professionals. Designed, implemented, evaluated and made recommendations for programmatic changes to better meet organizational goals and outcome benchmarks.

Provision of direct care and assistance to hospitalized psychiatric patients in acute inpatient facility. Assisted nursing and treatment team in the implementation of individualized treatment plans.
