Human Resources Manager
Current•Leads company compliance with all existing governmental and labor, legal and government reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity, the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Workers’ Compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Affordable Care Act while maintaining minimal company exposure to lawsuits.•Bridges management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, conducting investigations, including processing and deciding requests for Reasonable Accommodation. •Manages the recruitment, screening, and selection processes.•Onboard new hires providing new hire orientation regarding company policy, payroll and benefitsadvises managers and supervisors in the progressive discipline system of the company* Leads the implementation of the performance management system that includes performance improvement plans (PIPs) and employee development plans. •Manages, reports, and monitors all workers’ compensation claims working as the company’s liaison for claims with two insurers in multiple states. Makes recommendations for company policies that mitigate risk and encourage safety.•Serves as the primary contact for DOT medical examiners handling Fit for Duty and medical disqualification issues, providing information and referral to disqualified drivers to minimize delays in return to work. •Researches and provides feedback on salary structure, pay polices, and labor law. Conducts a continuing study of all Human Resources policies, programs, and practices to keep management informed of new developments and compliance with applicable state and federal guidelines.•Develops, revises, and implements new employee policies and procedures.•Off-boards employees, relaying termination of benefit information and conducting exit interviews for non-driving positions.
