In this role, I partnered with C-level executives to design and implement strategic operating plans, fiscal policies, and staffing initiatives.In order to ensure continuous improvement, I regularly assessed the performance of onsite and virtual IT teams, identified opportunities for growth, and developed new staff training programs. I drove several multi-site projects from concept to completion during my tenure, enforcing adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards. My most notable accomplishments include:◆ Built IT services department from the ground up; developed strategic vision, created all standard operating procedures, and defined scope of IT services. ◆ Slashed annual technology costs through the development of new IT services and the negotiation of cost-effective vendor contracts. ◆ Designed Prairie Vault, a managed disaster recovery/business continuity service located in a Tier IV datacenter which has been adopted by 28+ hospitals. ◆ Catalyzed a combined savings of several million dollars for 72 hospitals by negotiating an unlimited ELA with VMware to make enterprise software affordable to Critical Access Hospitals. ◆ Envisioned and implemented a wide area network (WAN) connecting fiber to 8 hub sites and 29 hospitals across 2 states; WAN has been renamed the Independent Health Network.◆ Secured grant funds to expand the Healthcare Connect Fund in order to provide 100MB circuits to 12 rural hospitals.

On accepting a permanent position with the Madison County Healthcare System, I oversaw all aspects of IT services, from staffing and training to strategy development and service delivery. I introduced numerous technological advancements to ensure facility compliance with emerging regulations, as well as to improve the performance of clinical teams.
