20+ years working in social change. I started my career as a journalist before pivoting to non profits. Since then I’ve worked in International Development, youth engagement, human rights, Internet policy, education, communications, food security, social inclusion, philanthropy and more. The connective tissue behind all my work is a fundamental belief that we all have something to learn and something to teach. I’m a generalist more than an expert; with some expertise and insight about strategy and business development, Canadian social movements and social purpose organizations, and process design and facilitation. I believe that relationships and trust are foundational to social change and they are my North Star. Climate change, extremism and increasing polarization keep me up at night; kindness, curiosity and empathy get me out of bed in the morning. I’m learning about equity, diversity and inclusion and Reconciliation, and what it means to be a good ally. I’m excited for what comes next.
